Dishwashers
Today's dishwashers have become the new
best friend of the kitchen. The designs of modern dishwashers
make it possible to simply load dishes right from your table
and into the dishwasher, with sparkling clean results. Special
features even accommodate to water and energy savings.
Before purchasing a dishwasher make sure
to consider the following factors:
-
Generally, dishwashers are either 18
or 24 inches wide. Make sure to measure the place that
you plan on putting it.
-
Compare brands and prices.
-
Consider the control type. There are
three common control types, rotary dial, push control,
and clean touch controls.
-
Always check the number of spray levels
on a dishwasher. For a better wash, look for the most
amount of directional sprays.
-
To avoid pre-rinsing, look for dishwashers
with a food grinder or disposal.
-
Check the energy efficiency rating.
The lower the number, the less amount of energy it will
use.
-
If you want to set your dishwasher
to wash while you are away, look for a delay start function.
-
Consider the types of cycles you want
your dishwasher to run.
-
Sound dampening packages are available
for homeowners that are worried about the dishwasher
being too noisy.
-
Pay attention the warranty and whether
you can get your dishwasher serviced locally.
Problems can easily arise with a dishwasher.
Sometimes the problem is extremely simple to solve. The
door may not be closed all the way, the cord may not be
plugged in, and the push cycle button may not be pushed
in all the way. Check first to see that all of these factors
are in place and working.
If you are having issues with regards to
the level of cleanness your dishes are receiving, the problem
may be related to the water temperature, spray arms, detergent
dispenser, internal filters, drain valve and the water inlet
valve. Water inlet valves control the amount of wash water
the dishwasher is receiving. It may need to be replaced
if there is an insufficient amount of wash water. Also,
make sure to check the sprayer arm and filter screen located
at the bottom. Look closely to see if they are obstructed
by a loose piece of silverware or maybe a plastic lid of
some sort.
